Preface 

It is a source of satisfaction that the previous edition of “Civil Major Acts” was highly appreciated and applauded by the Bench and the Bar. The present Edition of the Civil Major Acts is being presented through this treaty. During this span of time, the various enactments forming part of Civil Major Acts suffered amendments which necessitated to be incorporated in the relevant statutes appropriately; besides large number of case law poured during this period which also required to be incorporated at their right place. Efforts have been made in this edition to incorporate all these amendments, and the important case law available till the date of publication suitably effected in the headings and sub-headings as required. The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 also received numerous amendments ads announced by the Government of Punjab which have been tried to be rightly incorporated in the present edition. The amendments ran as under:-

It is hoped, that this edition will, too, prove more useful for the Bench and the Bar I will welcome any suggestion if made by my friends and brothers to enhance and improve the value of this book.
